Let The Beat Relax...

Hey everyone
I have to say that I was a little worried about what music I would be able to put up earlier this week. But from Tuesday on I've come across so many new exceptional songs that I ended up having to sit through and force myself to cut a lot of good music to leave you with these 7 songs. And seven might be a little too many still. Oh well.

In contrast with many of the upbeat, dubby songs I shared last week, most of the songs this week are quite relaxing and soothing.

I came across the club edit of Deadmau5's Strobe... I feel like it's by far one of his more relaxing songs, and I was kind of shocked that he would actually make something like this, because it doesn't really fit in with the atmosphere of his shows. Not really something you'd expect from a guy in a red mouse helmet.

In any case, it works well as a relaxing playlist with a couple of the other songs that I have for you this time.

Here we once again see the versatility that is Lil Wayne. He can make you want to lick the lollipop, as well as calm you down after you've given up on studying and just don't care anymore. An interesting mash-up with the theme song to the Office... it works quite well I'd say.

One of the most relaxing songs I have ever heard is Def Starr's remix of Phoenix's Fences. So when I came across this next track mixed by him, I knew it had to be good. He didn't disappoint. Monarchy themselves seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Everyone I've talked to has the same information on them: that there isn't any. They only have 2 singles out so far, but expect a lot more to be coming out of these guys in the future. Neon Gold Records has a pretty good record for picking up talent so far.

MGMT has always been a fave of mine, if you can see them live do it, I went to a concert last October and it was AMAZING. Electric Feel has now been covered by Katy Perry. A relaxing original, put some nice female vocals on it, and it becomes even more soothing. Enjoy.

I have no idea who this guy is. A semi- repetitive but very catchy tune, I like it a lot. Smooth rapping, catchy chorus. Thumbs up. Although I doubt he's the kind of person to have more than one good song ever. Oh well.

Now for some more upbeat (not by a lot more) music. Not much to say, Miike Snow and Sweedish House Mafia. Pretty common stuff.

Overall, more low key, less intense music this time. Doesn't mean I didn't find some crazy dub. If you want some, feel free to email me at cdfrantzis@gmail.com

Enjoy folks.

Welcome to Superiorest

Welcome to Superiorest folks.

I'm trying to keep a weekly email blog, sending you about 5 songs or so that I discover and feel like sharing. In the past, I tried keeping everyone updated via dropbox, but that had a couple issues. First, space filled up quickly.  Even if you didn't like a song, it still took up space on your computer. Secondly, there wasn't really a way for me to say anything about the music that I put up, which is important. I'll try out this email business and figure it out. Feedback is very much appreciated, as well as requests for more of certain kinds of music.

Since this a "premier" there are going to be a lot more songs on this one than usual. For the most part, I'm going to try and keep it quality over quantity. Sorry for the enormous length of this one, I wanted to start with a bang.

I'm going to try and provide both streaming and downloading links. The download links might still have a few kinks in them. Thanks go to Russell for trying to help me with these. You may have to right click and say save link as for some of these download links.

Crystal Castles, the powerhouse from Ontario came out with their second album a little while ago. I love it personally.  It's features more relaxed beats than their previous songs, which can be a bad thing, but they are all songs that are perfect for relaxing in the back of the club with a couple of drinks.

Swedish artist Robyn, recently announced that she is going to release not one, not two, but three new albums in 2010. Her new single None of Dem leaves me pretty excited for what she can come up with. A dark but enjoyable song:

The B.O.B phenomenon continues! He caught my attention with Nothin' on You with Bruno Mars, and he has really started to become a powerhouse. One thing I have to say is that his best songs all feature some other artists; He's had Bruno Mars, Lupe, Jay-Z, and now Hayley Williams of Paramore and Eminem come and accompany him in his song Airplanes. It has two parts, the first one does not feature Eminem continuing with his nonstop self pitying that we have seen him stick to lately. Not that he's not good, but all his songs say the same thing. My life sucked. But I made it big. But it still haunts me. We got it man.

The 21 year old Flirtphonic that we knew from Bubble Burst finally has come out with some new music early April. This is a nice track, sticking closely to the intensity of his previous songs.

Flirtphonic - Welcome to the Party

Simian Mobile Disco has teamed up with Jamie Lidell to turn this baby out. I'm not a fan of either of them, so I don't have much to say, but this one is decent and for those of you who like their style, I feel obligated to put this on here.

Symbian Mobile Disco ft Jamie Lidell - Off the Map

I've got a couple of really good mixes for you in store. Not much to talk about, other than that they're really really good.

Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Remix)

Lil' Wayne - Lollipop (Nasty Ways Remix)

We've seen Harlem's freestyle battler Kinetics partner up with sick beat-dropper One Love and what that combination can make. Their album is one that I would recommend to everyone. However, if you're looking for a more funny song by them, this is one you'd like. (It's very very dirty by the way)

Kinetics and One Love - Horny Girl

This song I found randomly, I've always been a fan of Freeschool, and I discovered he produced some songs parallel to DJ Ammo. I checked those out, and found this one. It's lighter than a lot of other songs on this post

Kelis - 4th of July (Produced by DJ Ammo)

I recently rediscovered some really good songs that I had forgotten. One is by J. Rabbit, showing off some more of his unique style, a hybrid of Pendulum and Nero's dubstep mixes. The other is a sweet mashup of Might Like you Better and Deadmau5's Moar Ghosts N Whatever

J. Rabbit - Ninja Gaiden

DJ Paul V - Might Like Ghosts Better

Last but not least, Punkroses. No explanation. It's Punkroses
