It's been a long, long time, again.
I don't know why, but it always seems to go in spurts. A couple of weeks with a lot of music, a couple of months with none. Hopefully I can keep it up this time. Not that I haven't said that before too haha.

Anyways, I'm really excited to share these next tracks with you. The youtube playlist that I had made before worked really well, in my opinion, and I will try to create another one for this next post. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to put download links up this time; last time I did, I basically got a cease and desist letter saying, "yo, that music you're putting up? take it down, or else. kthxbye" So, no more downloads. But definitely yes to streams, they cannot stop that.

First up is a song that I had heard in the past, but I'll give credit to Lauren for reminding me of this awesomeness: We have Swedish House Mafia teaming up with Tinie Tempah for this awesome song. This song has been mixed the $%@! out, but I think this one is at the top with Miike Snow's mix coming close behind.

Swedish House Mafia - Miami 2 Ibiza ft (Tinie Tempah)

Fun Fact: Ibiza is a tiny island off the coast of Spain, known for it's clubs.

Skrillex... how should I describe them. They (he) goes HARD. As in, all the way in super dirty hard. I, for one, am a huge fan. It's just something that you listen to and surrender all your emotions and movement to. And you are left confused at the end of the track because you have no idea what just happened. They have a new album that came out last month, if you like these, get it. It's awesome.

Also, just a warning, Kill Everybody is creepy. Very creepy.

Skrillex - Kill Everybody
Skrillex - Slats Slats Slats

Wiz Kalifa is basically made of weed. I cannot think of a song of his that doesn't mention weed. And this is the same. But, it's really dirty. And everyone knows dirty = good. Also, who's Too Short?

Wiz Kalifa - On My Level ft. Too Short

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, now updated to 2011 standards. Very chill.

Ennio Morricone - L'Estasi Dell'Oro (Bandini Remix)

If I had to say who my favorite mashup artist is, I would definitely have to say The White Panda. I think there's been one or two songs of there's that I haven't really enjoyed. They didn't disappoint me this time either. Shooting Superstars is one of my favorite songs of all time, and the other two are pretty good too. Have to say that I think they expected too much from their slant syncopation they were trying to get going with Roscoe Dash's part at the end of Stereo Hands, but other than that, top notch.

The White Panda - Shooting Superstars
The White Panda - Infinite Dream
The White Panda - Stereo Hands

Usually good mixes come from really good music. Except with Monarchy. I've listened to all of their original songs, have not liked a single one. This one is the same. Pretty bad. But Benny Benassi saved it, thank god.

Monarchy - Love Get Out of My Way (Benny Benassi Remix)

Taking a short break from all this electro-oriented music, here's a couple of non-remixed ( :-O ) songs that are some of my favorites. Especially Little Lion Man. God, it's a good song. Don't know much about either of them though.

Erin McCarley - Pony, It's OK
Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man

I heard a couple of rappers lately that I really like that I want to get to know better. Doesn't hurt to have a couple of superstars like Kanye and Robyn to back you up to help you get noticed. Also, this way has a pretty damn good music video.

Dilated Peoples - This Way
Robyn - Cobrastyle Remix (Ft. Ish)

While we're on Kanye, here's a song I really really like. It's a Pretty Light's mix of his All of the Lights. And a mix of Pink Floyd's Time. Pretty Lights is soooo good. They definitely make the songs less lyrical, but the music makes it all worth it. Not happy songs, but it's Valentine's day. Screw happy.

Kanye West - All of the Lights (Pretty Lights Remix)
Pink Floyd - Time (Pretty Lights Remix)

I have to admit, most of the songs that I like I like because of the music, not because of the lyrics. That's partially because most songs that come out don't have particularly good lyrics. For example, I love Train, but all their songs that are good are about love and how it's great and how you're great blah blah blah. Lame. Plain White T's. LAME. Good, catchy tunes sometimes. But no real depth. Or meaning. I guess you don't need that for 12 year old girl audiences. Here's a song though, that's really just a form of expression. With really good music.

Lupe Fiasco - Words I Never Said (Ft. Skylar Grey)

Enjoy!

Whoops.

Well, it seems like I've been violating some copyright laws by posting download links on my blog. I got an email the other day basically saying take them down or else. So from now on, only stream links :-/ However, if you do want to download the songs from somewhere, send me and email (cdfrantzis@gmail.com) and I can tell you how to do that.

Music's Back!!!!

Damn. It has been a long long time since I've done this. Unfortunately, in the time that I haven't been posting music, I've still been listening to music, so I have a ****load of music to post. After reluctantly doing away with a bunch of songs, there are still 34 of them. I guess that could be a good thing too. But if i were to actually write a review/explanation for each song, I would probably fail all of my classes. And that wouldn't be fun. I'll write a brief intro to each song that I feel needs it. I'm also made a Youtube video playlist of all the songs on this post so that you can just click play and listen to the songs while you work or whatever. To download click on the link to take you to a mediafire page where you can download the song. If it just opens a new tab that plays the song, close that tab and right click on the download link and say save link as.  Furthermore, I would recommend listening to these songs at night. They aren't really songs that go well with the light of day, at least most of them. Enjoy! The poll is up. Any input is appreciated.

Here's the Youtube playlist. It should play all of these songs in order. WARNING THIS PLAYLIST IS ALMOST 3 HOURS LONG. So judge your listening accordingly.

Also, look at the duck. It's wearing a dog mask on its face.

First off, here's an awesome song by Parov Stelar. Thanks to Matt Rice for introducing me to this song. And the awesome dance.

Kanye has had some pretty sweet mixes/songs that I've listened to lately. He may be a little too cocky, but his music's right on.

The following songs are pretty damn thug in my opinion. Although I definitely (probably) would not be the person to judge that. Warning, lots of n-bombs.

Thanks are due to Jules for introducing me to the wonders of Nicki Minaj. Also, I think Willow Smith is crazy for a 9 year old. Also, "Willow"? Common Will Smith, please be more self centered.

Ke$ha is a dirty person. All her songs are dirty. But I have to give it to her, she pulls off the persona perfectly and I love her music. So all in all, I have lots of respect. Also, much to my surprise, she is not from Jersey as I though. She's from Nashville. That caught me off guard.

Kesha Ft. 3Oh!3 - Blah Blah Blah (Skeet Skeet Remix)

Don't judge me. I rediscovered this song and it is amazing.

Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

These next two are for those of you (coughsartuccicoughcough) who prefer normal music, you know, with instruments, rather than electronica that for all we know is made by a 17 year old kid in his basement with a couple of cigarettes, dim lighting, and $2000 dollar pirated software. These songs both sound much older than they are, hopefully that's a good thing.

Kyle, this is for you. I know you like epic music, and I consider this pretty epic. It'll be good for writing papers. Plus, I know you'll like the intro.

As always, please share! The playlist and the poll will be up when I can get to them, I'm going to be in Montreal this weekend, and I do have schoolwork and work. But I promise I'll get them up at some point.

Next weekend, A-Demps has some impressive music she put together that I'd like to share with all of you.

Exams...

Sorry guys, I'd love to be able to post something worthwhile, but I have exams these days. 1 down, 5 to go. I won't be able to really write or post anything until after I'm done (which will be next Wednesday)

Post Numba 3. With Poll.

Hey guys.

This time I want to try something new. I'm gonna have a poll at the side of the page (this side) ==>
You can chose which song(s) you really liked. That way I get an idea of what most people want, and I'm thinking every now and then have a post where I have the most loved songs posted as a periodic culmination of sorts.

RATATAT. The guitar and synth/bass duo from New York released their 6th album since their first one in 2004. It's called LP4. Following LP3 from 2008. It's pretty similar, and although good, I have to say that all the songs in the album sound very very similar. Interestingly, they've embraced the electronic side of their instruments more, with a larger synth-to-instrument ratio than they usually have. It sounds splendid.

Tiesto teamed up with a Canadian Indie band called Tegan and Sara. Tegan and Sara are identical twins, and I think they sound the same, because I can't really differentiate their voices in the song. They sound almost exactly the same. A sad song, if you listen to the lyrics, but we've all been there before. But it is Tiesto. And so, you're not really going to be paying attention to the lyrics.

Kaskade's 6th studio album Dynasty along with his singles Dragonette and Fire In Your New Shoes have surfaced him this past month as something more than admittedly not-so-good artist that, looking back, has been around a couple of years. His earlier stuff, not so good. This song, pretty good.

Anyone who knows me knows that I do not do country music. It does not sit well with my soul. Luckily, DJ Dark Intensity fixed that for me with a heavy dose of synth and drum machines. I might actually forgive him for ruining Lady Gaga's Monster. A country song that's actually enjoyable... because it's not country anymore.

Crystal Castles have overshadowed a lot of other artists these past weeks that have been making significant musical advances. And by a lot of others I'm referring to LightsoverLA and  Fenech Soler specifically. Crystal Castles DEFINITELY deserved to hog the spotlight. But now we should go back and look at the little guys in the shadows. Specifically Fenech Soler. The UK-based quad seems to have hit the top of their game in 2009, and many of their songs, have been remixed to hell. I didn't want to put out yet another remix of Stop and Stare, so I got this one :-)

This next K-OS song, released in November 2009, samples the theme song to the OC! (Phantom Planets - California) It's much much better though. I think with proper exposure, this could be one of those Top 40 songs that you hear literally 3 times in every half hour on the radio. I have absolutely no idea where they got the song name though. Maybe it's a codename. Or maybe they were high.

These next two songs are happy. I really like them. Two Door Cinema Club recently toured with Phoenix. The two are really really similar in style, but Two Door Cinema Club is much younger, and I think that'll mean that there will be more good songs by them than from Phoenix in the future. They're playing a bunch of shows over the US, including in Philadelphia on May the 13th. If anyone is around there, you should definitely go, I promise they're really really good. Something Good Can Work, is a really good cheer me up song, if anyone is feeling down about anything, I would recommend it after something sad like Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy (Thank you S. Change for showing me that, one of my faves) Gyptian I'm not a fan of. Nor am I a fan of his style of music. Or the fact that I can never understand what he's saying. But curiously enough, this song relaxes me.

Last week Rahul said he wanted a good, live version of a classic rock song, complete with music video. This is for you Rahul.

The Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane (Live)

Also Rahul, remember this?

Thank you Annie for pointing out that some download links did not work last week. I really appreciate it. If anyone has any difficulties or finds any errors, please let me know.

Requests are still very welcome.

And please share! Publicity is very welcome!
